About Eden Gardens Block Club
Eden Gardens Block Club (EGBC) was founded in July 2010 by residents living in Northeast Detroit to assess and address the neighborhood's continued viability and to impede further devastation and abandonment of houses in the area. EGBC encompasses Gratiot to Dickerson and Rosemary to Wilfred.

The block club was incorporated on January 13, 2011 and granted 501(c)(3) tax exempt status on January 22, 2013. From the beginning, Eden Gardens Block Club has focused on cleaning up abandoned homes and vacant lots to beautify the area and we continue to do so to date. In 2013, the block club, in collaboration with the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue (IADS), created a community garden on three vacant lots in the EGBC neighborhood.

Mission:

Eden Gardens Block Club's mission is to beautify and improve our community and surrounding property and foster a sense of individual obligation and pride in our neighborhood.
